A textured version of the Torrey Log School and Church in the small delightful town of Torrey, Utah, near Capitol Reef National Park. When visiting Capitol Reef, there are numerous accommodations in Torrey, along with a few places to grab a meal.
From www.torreyutah.com: "The Torrey Log Church/School House is a unique structure. While log construction was not uncommon throughout pioneer Utah, few unaltered examples remain, perhaps none that were specifically built for the multiple religious/civic, educational function as was this building. The continued use of this early, initial phase type meeting house is also uncommon. It remains a significant building, both locally and throughout Utah." Construction of the building was begun in September 1898, with a school opening in the building in December of that year. The small building was moved to a different lot in 1991, and again in 1994, to its final place.
