Description
A view of a portion of the Shaffer Trail road, which winds along the cliff edge high up in Island in the Sky in Canyonlands, and ultimately follows numerous switch-backs to get down to the next plateau. This road is a favorite of jeeper and bicyclists in southern Utah. The road leads down to the White Rim Road, which follows the shape of Island in the Sky on the lower plateau, at various times following the Colorado River and Green River canyons. The view from Shaffer Trail is unique - giving travelers a great view of the many cliff faces of Canyonlands, the La Sal mountains, and the plateau below. The best view is driving from the top to the bottom of the road, Be sure to watch where you're heading!!
