Description
The old non-working Dubinky well near Canyonlands National Park.
History: Dubinky Well & windmill were built in 1937 by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) under the sponsorship of the Grazing Service to provide water for livestock grazing. The oversized 16 foot diameter windmill was necessitated by the 500 foot deep well, unusual for a range well in this area. This has made it a local travel landmark as well as filling its water pumping function. The well was used only intermittently in the 1970's and 1980's. A changed use necessitated moving the windmill in 1996, and it was selected as a site to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Grazing Service which became part of the Bureau of Land Management in 1946.

Beautiful perspective and I really like how the circular and curved shapes are repeated in the slope, well perimeter, and the windmill! v/f
